FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our agrivoltaic platform, services, and how to get started.
An agrivoltaic system integrates solar energy infrastructure with active agricultural production on the same land. Hunter WEST designs these systems so agriculture remains the primary land use, while solar panels provide energy, shade, and data collection capabilities.
Yes — all Hunter WEST agrivoltaic system designs are developed or certified by a Professional Agrologist. This ensures crop compatibility, animal welfare integration, soil stewardship, and long-term agricultural productivity.
We design systems for orchards, vineyards, specialty crops, nursery production, livestock operations with rotational grazing, and reforestation projects. Our PAg team tailors each design to your specific crop and operational requirements.
The MULE (Motorized Utility Land Equipment) is our electric field platform built for agrivoltaic environments. It supports planting, inspection, monitoring, and light operational tasks beneath solar arrays while reducing soil compaction and emissions. It features standard implement compatibility, hydraulic ports, a 60 hp PTO, robotic arms, and multispectral cameras.
AgroCore is our farm management platform that lets you monitor disease development, soil conditions, and assign jobs to your MULEs. You have full control over your field data — whether you share insights or keep them private.
Our monthly monitoring and analytics service includes continuous sensor data collection, performance dashboards, monthly agronomic summary reports, seasonal optimization recommendations, data-driven yield and resilience tracking, and ongoing system calibration support.
Yes. You can run AgroCore locally to enable data privacy.
AgroCore is a renewable-powered, AI-enabled data platform built for scale and resilience. It fuses solar-agricultural infrastructure with AI, real-time analytics, and leading research — all delivered through a dedicated data centre in British Columbia. For connectivity enquiries, contact Lyle E. Storey.
We follow a phased approach: feasibility and agronomic assessment, PAg-certified agrivoltaic master plan, infrastructure deployment, sensor installation, monthly data subscription services, farm-gate value-added product integration (where applicable), and long-term stewardship and performance review.
Hunter WEST supports producers in developing farm-gate beverage and botanical product lines under a 'Produced Under Solar' appellation framework — including hydrosols, herbal essences, wine reductions, and botanical extracts cultivated beneath agrivoltaic systems.
